VIA DONAU, VIENNA
„Donau on Tour“ VERDANDI’s first swimming exhibition set sail in October 2007. Via Donau, the Austrian Waterways Management, will send the “Negrelli”, the ship the exhibition is located on, to many towns along the Danube starting with Bratislava in 2008 and the culture capital Linz in 2009.The history and the importance of the Danube are at the center of the exhibition which comprises a lot of interactive stations which VERDANDI has developed together with the multimedia specialist IMAGINATION Computer Services. Not only does the river Danube connect many European countries, it is also vital for humans and the environment. Visitors learn about the importance of floods for the development of the Danube-typical habitats. They can listen to tourists, people living and working on the Danube as well as to animals living in and on the river talking about pollution, renaturing projects, etc.

For the Gesäuse National Park in Austria, Verdandi developed an interactive relief with an integrated 3D flight over the Gesäuse region. With only one Joystick visitors can either guide a light spot over the relief or they can virtually fly over the landscape. At certain points indicated during the flight or on the relief, the user can access information either in form of short videoclips or picture and text explaining the distinctive features of the region.
